Rockland County To Impose Gas Restrictions
NEW CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Rockland County will issue a local emergency order restricting the amount of fuel that an individual can purchase at a gas station.
County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef will announce Friday afternoon that Rockland County is facing a serious gasoline shortage, as few gas stations in the county are expected to receive fuel deliveries in the near future.

The fight for fuel has caused patience to run thin and tension to run high after Superstorm Sandy, and the scene at area gas stations has been chaotic.

On Friday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said gas is finally on its way. But not soon enough.

Speaking at a news conference, Gov. Cuomo acknowledged there is a shortage of fuel, but said "there is no reason to panic."
Try telling that to drivers at the Hess station at 44th Street and 10th Ave. As CBS 2′s Tony Aiello reports, drivers coming up from the South are waiting six hours to fill their tanks at the station.

The situation got so intense in Queens on Thursday, one man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after he tried to cut a line at a gas station and pointed a pistol at another motorist who complained, according to the District Attorney Richard Brown.
