"All of the time, now, when I see an older woman with a middle-aged daughter, it really really hurts," says Bohevesky.
It has been 30 years since her 16-year-old daughter Paula was raped and murdered by two men blocks from her Pearl River home.
She didn't just lose her daughter. She says she lost her whole world.
"There's just that hole that's there and you're always aware of that hole," says Bohevesky.
This Friday, she will go before a parole board to give a victim impact statement.
She says the two men convicted in her daughter's killing should not walk out of prison.
"The main thing that I'm concerned about is that they'd be free to do it again," she says. "I just think someone who's capable of this kind of violence, they just not have a chance to do it again."
Richard LaBarbera and Robert McCain were convicted of the October 28, 1980 crime.
An online petition to keep the men in prison has been posted at petitionforpaula.org.
