As cement was being mixed and bricks were being put into place, Provident Bank announced the name of the new ballpark in Ramapo will be Provident Bank Park.
Ramapo town supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence says the new ballpark will bring in jobs and money to the town and the county.
He says he can't wait for the first pitch to be thrown.
"Here we stand in Ramapo, which is probably the most ethnically diverse community in this state of New York, where, in this ballpark here, you're going to be able to see people from this community sitting side by side enjoying the great game of baseball, and that's what it's about," St. Lawrwence said on Tuesday. "It's going to mean that families are going to be able to come here with great entertainment and enjoy America's great pastime."
Their first home game will be against the Brockton Rox.
