Roberto Nunez Pleads Not Guilty In Harlem Triple-Killing Inside BMW
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A court document shows the suspected killer of three men found shot in a luxury car in Harlem said he thought about turning himself in.
Roberto Nunez pleaded not guilty Tuesday to murder in the June 7 shootings. He was arraigned on first and second degree murder charges in the shooting deaths of 30-year-old Amaury Rodriguez, 26-year-old Heriberto Suazo and 25-year-old Louis Catalan.
A passer-by found the bodies in a parked BMW on a street near Columbia University. Surveillance video showed a man calmly walking away from the car.
According to charging documents and statements made in court, Nunez was in the backseat of the vehicle before he shot the men with a .38-caliber revolver.
The 30-year-old was arrested 16 days later in a Bronx apartment.
A court document released Tuesday says Nunez told a detective he'd seen himself on TV and planned to turn himself in shortly.
His lawyer declined to comment.
