Rex Ryan Calls For 'Loud Out' From Jets Fans

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP/WFAN) — Attention Jets tailgaters: Rex wants you to fire up your grills a little earlier this Sunday.

New York coach Rex Ryan says Wednesday that he's challenging his offense to start fast, and is calling for a "loud-out" by the fans to let the Houston Texans "know we're there."

"The last time we played Houston, they had a 'white out.' Everybody was wearing white. I'm not calling for anything like that. I'm just calling for a 'loud out.' Let's be loud and proud and get after these guys," Ryan said Wednesday.

In an effort to establish more of a home-field advantage, Ryan would like Jets fans to get to the New Meadowlands Stadium earlier than usual and get their pregame meals out of the way. This way, they can be in their seats by the time the team is introduced before the game.

"I'm just asking that we start tailgating earlier so by the time the introductions come out, we've got a butt in every seat," said Ryan.

There were several empty seats at the start of the Jets' last home game, a 9-0 loss to Green Bay, three weeks ago.

"A lot has been made about the fact that we're 5-0 on the road and 2-2 at home," Ryan said Wednesday. "That's not sitting well with our fans. It's not sitting well with our team, any of us. We're going to make this a home-field advantage.

"That's what you work for. That's why you try to get all the wins you can in the regular season, you hope you host some playoff games. I think this is going to be a huge home-field advantage."
