Reward Offered In Shooting Death Of Auxiliary Police Officer In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A $12,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the death of an off-duty auxiliary police officer in Brooklyn.
EMS responders found Francky Aleger, 39, unconscious near the corner of East 95th Street and Glenwood Road in the Canarsie section of the borough around 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said Aleger was shot once in the back and left to die.
He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
The incident happened just 10 blocks from his home.
Aleger, a father of two, had been walking to the train to get Mount Sinai Hospital, where he worked as an medical orderly.
Aleger also volunteered as an auxiliary officer in the 13th Precinct in Manhattan.
