Rev. Sharpton Holds 'Thanksgiving' Rally In NYC Following Charges Against Baltimore Cops
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Family members of Eric Garner joined the Rev. Al Sharpton at a New York City "rally of thanksgiving" for the charges brought against six Baltimore police officers in the death of Freddie Gray.
Garner's mother, widow and daughter sat silently behind Sharpton as he spoke on Saturday in Manhattan.

Sharpton said the non-indictment in the Eric Garner case, even with a video tape, shows the system is broken, 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis reported.
"We cannot continue this random 'let's see what a prosecutor and a county and politics is going to do,'" Sharpton said.
The reverend called for special prosecutors in every police brutality case nationwide. He also called for a federal law requiring cameras on all law enforcement officers.
Garner's widow asked why there seems to be justice in Baltimore, but not in New York City.
"The same way the man was screaming for medical attention and they refused to get it was the same way my husband was screaming 'I can't breathe,'" she said.
Garner's family vowed to continue their fight for justice in his case.
On Friday, about 1,000 protesters decrying police brutality marched in Manhattan.
Gray's death from spinal injuries a week after his April 12 arrest provoked riots in Baltimore on Monday. The decision Friday to charge the officers with felonies ranging from assault to murder has brought celebrations on those same streets.
A lawyer for the police union has insisted the Baltimore officers did nothing wrong.
