Retired Horace Mann Teacher Admits To Having Sex With 'Maybe Three' Of His Students
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There has been a stunning admission from a retired Horace Mann schoolteacher.
In the wake of this month's New York Times Magazine article that exposed sex-abuse at the Bronx prep school, Tek Young Lin is now confirming some of the allegations.
Lin -- who retired in 1986 and is now 88 -- told the New York Times that he had sex with "maybe three" of his students.
"In those days it was very spontaneous and casual, and it did not seem really wrong," Lin told the newspaper.
He added that everything was in "warmth and affection," and that he's sorry if he crossed any boundaries.
The school's public-relations firm said that these claims are appalling if true, and it is urging Lin to cooperate with law-enforcement authorities.
It's unlikely that the once-beloved teacher could face any kind of prosecution or civil suit because of New York's statute of limitations.
