Residents Displaced By Early Morning Bay Shore Blaze
BAYSHORE, NY (CBSNewYork) -- About a dozen people had to be evacuated from their homes after a fire early Wednesday morning on Long Island.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. at a building in Bay Shore. Heavy flames were pouring out the building by the time Suffolk County firefighters arrived.
It began at a fencing company but then spread to apartments on the upper floors.
No one was hurt, but about dozen people were evacuated from the apartments. The fire also brought down power lines blacking out some homes in the area.
No word on what sparked the blaze.
