Reports: Nike's LeBron X Sneakers To Cost $315 A Pair
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- What would you buy with $315?
How about a pair of Nike's new LeBron X sneakers?
The new sneakers, named for basketball star LeBron James, are expected to be released later this year with a possible price tag of more than $300, according to published reports.

James apparently wore a version of the sneakers at the Olympics during Team USA's gold medal winning game against Spain.
The kicks will be equipped with motion sensors measuring vertical leap and running distance. A lo-tech version of the shoe is expected to cost about $180.
The LeBron X is inspired by the diamond -- both aesthetically and metaphorically -- and will have Nike's Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction, Nike Plus functionality and the first full-length visible Zoom Air unit, according to NikeBlog.com.
If the $315 price tag sticks, that would make the LeBron X Nike's most expensive shoe to date.
Some New Yorkers found the cost absurd.
"I wouldn't pay more than $40 for a pair of sneakers; if they're comfortable, they fit, they look good there's no reason to pay anything ridiculous like that," one man said.
"Do you need a mortgage to buy that?" another man said.
Others however said the sneakers are worth it.
The company has yet to set a price for the shoe.
