Reports: Kenny Phillips Suffers MCL Sprain In Giants' Loss
NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- Giants starting safety Kenny Phillips went down with about 4 minutes to go in the first half on Sunday-- and it looks like he could miss a major chunk of the team's stretch run.
According to multiple reports, Phillips sprained his left MCL in the 38-35 loss to Green Bay.
Phillips was injured making a tackle on tight end Jermichael Finley's 23-yard catch that helped set up a Packers touchdown late in the half.
Giants rookie linebacker Spencer Paysinger was the first to go down with a strained hamstring early in the second quarter and was declared out for the rest of the game.
Also, Green Bay star cornerback Charles Woodson suffered a concussion Sunday.
Woodson was hurt in the fourth quarter and did not return to the Packers' 12th straight victory without a loss. He will be examined further back in Green Bay this week.
Backup tight end Andrew Quarless left late in the period with a sprained right knee, needing help to get to the sideline. Coach Mike McCarthy termed it "serious."
Green Bay also lost running back James Starks with a sprained ankle. The team did not reveal which ankle.
