Reports: Giants To Sign RB Kregg Lumpkin
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Multiple reports have suggested that the Giants will sign free agent running back Kregg Lumpkin.
The season-ending injury to Andre Brown has forced the Giants to sign Lumpkin. This afternoon, the Giants worked out Lumpkin, Rock Cartwright and Ryan Torain.
According Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Giants expect to add Torain to their roster in the near future.
Lumpkin, 28 was waived by the Seahawks on September 18. He has not seen game action this season. Lumpkin played 16 games for the Buccaneers in 2011. In 2011, he rushed for 105 yards on 31 rushing attempts for an average of 3.4 yards per carry.
He went undrafted in the 2008 NFL Draft and began his career with the Packers.
