Report: NYC To Boot More Cars By End Of Summer
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There is some good news and some bad news out this morning for those who rack up lots of unpaid parking tickets.
The city might not tow you, but your car still might not be going anywhere.
Last year, we told you about the New York City returning to an old idea, wheel locks in use to go after scofflaws in Brooklyn and Queens.

After a trial run, the New York Times reports that the city will start booting more often by the end of the summer, going after those who owe more than $350.
While nobody wants to be immobilized, several drivers pointed out a distinct advantage.
"I had my car towed and I couldn't find it," one told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams. "It wound up being somewhere in Whitestone... It took me two days to find my car."
"If you're towed, then you got to find out where your care is at. Sometimes, you can't get it the same day," another driver told 1010 WINS reporter John Montone. "Give me the boot."

Plus, under the new system, you'll be able to pay by phone, get a release code, take off the boot yourself, and return it to the city within 48 hours.
