Report: Mary J. Blige Owes Millions In Back Taxes
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - R&B superstar Mary J. Blige has been hit with a $3.4 million tax lien from Uncle Sam for failing to pay her taxes over several years, according to court records.
Blige has already been hit with liens in Saddle River, N.J. and Westchester County, N.Y. where she owns homes, according to court documents.
The IRS said Blige, 43, has failed to pay all her income taxes over the past several years.
Blige owes the IRS nearly $575,000 from 2009, $2.2 million from 2010 and $647,000 from 2011, according to TMZ, which first reported the lien. Blige also owes more than $900,000 in back taxes in New Jersey, according to TMZ.
The Bronx-born Grammy award-winning singer was also recently sued by Bank of America for not fully repaying a loan and she's also been sued by Signature Bank for defaulting on a different loan, TMZ reported.
Blige's hits include "No More Drama" and "Be Without You."
