Report: Man Found Dead In Car Was Army Vet
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Police in Trenton have identified a man whose body was discovered in the trunk of a car after a high-speed chase over the weekend.
The chase early Sunday morning began in Trenton and involved three cars that were spotted driving at high speed. Police pursued on Route 1 Pennsylvania and stopped two of them.
The body of Dardar Paye was found in the trunk of one of the cars, apparently dead from a gunshot wound.
The 33-year-old Maplewood resident was a native of Liberia who told The Star-Ledger of Newark in November that he came to the U.S. in the early 1990s and served in the Army in Kuwait and later in the New Jersey National Guard.
His deportation fight stemmed from his convictions on drug and weapons offenses in 2004 and 2005.
