Report: Knicks And Nets To Host Marquee Games On Christmas Day
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It would have been a Christmas miracle if the Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets faced each other on December 25. But one of the four 2013-14 meetings between the two rivals won't be happening while presents are being unwrapped.
However, both teams are scheduled to play on Christmas Day in their respective boroughs, according to the New York Daily News.
The Knicks will reportedly square off with the Western Conference powerhouse Oklahoma City Thunder at Madison Square Garden. Across the bridge at the Barclays Center, Nets fans will see a rematch of last season's postseason matchup between Brooklyn and the Chicago Bulls -- the Bulls took the series in seven games.
This will be the second straight season where both New York teams play on Christmas Day. Last holiday, the Knicks visited the Los Angeles Lakers and the Nets hosted the Boston Celtics.
The official NBA schedule will not be released until next week, but a league source told the Daily News that the Knicks and Brooklyn will play one of their four matchups on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
