Report: Giants Co-Owner Tisch Gives HBO's 'Hard Knocks' The Thumbs Down
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- HBO's widely-popular "Hard Knocks" series has earned its share of praise from critics and a number of major awards since the show debuted in 2001.
New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch is not a fan.
Tisch spoke of his distaste for the series in an interview with TMZ. He feels that "Hard Knocks" can be a distraction for young players.
"I don't think it brings anything to the team," Tisch said to TMZ. "It's a bit of a distraction and I think it's sort of misleading for the players ... especially the young guys."
Both Tisch and John Mara have stated that the Giants have no interest in participating in the reality series.
"Even though it comes off as a documentary, you're asking young athletes to perform," Tisch said. "Perform on the field ... don't perform in the locker room for a TV show."
The Cincinnati Bengals are currently being profiled in the 2013 edition of the Emmy-winning series.
