Report: Former NYU Instructor Goes On Rampage In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A former NYU instructor was arrested late last week, after allegedly splashing a woman with a liquid he told her was blood and yelling and cursing at a dog, according to a published report.
Hans Shmidheiser, 30, was allegedly walking through Williamsburg, Brooklyn, around 8 p.m. Friday when he came across another man walking his dog, according to a New York Post report. He picked the dog up and yelled at the animal, "What the f**k is your name?" the newspaper reported.
An hour later, Shmidheiser allegedly walked up to a woman walking down the street and said he had been drinking blood and wanted to go to the hospital, the newspaper reported. He then doused her with fruit punch, telling her it was blood, the paper reported.
Shmidheiser, who taught at NYU between 2004 and 2008 while working on a Ph.D. in mathematics, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor menacing and harassment, the paper reported.
