Report: Despite Interest From Warriors, Kerr Leaning Toward Knicks
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Knicks remain the frontrunner to land Steve Kerr as their next head coach, but they have some competition.
According to the New York Post, the TNT analyst will listen to the Warriors if they approach him about their coaching vacancy. The position became open on Tuesday, when Mark Jackson was fired by Golden State following the team's first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The newspaper reports that despite the Warriors' interest, Kerr is still leaning towards coming to New York to work for his former coach -- and current Knicks President -- Phil Jackson.

Kerr's family lives in San Diego, so he has the West Coast connection to consider. But the former Suns general manager remains intrigued about implementing the triangle offense under Jackson, who he won three championships with as a player.
The coveted broadcaster is expected to decide by the end of the week where he'll be taking his talents, the New York Post reported.
Kerr is being represented by Mike Tannenbaum, the former Jets general manager-turned-agent. Tannenbaum told WFAN co-hosts Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday that Kerr will coach -- whether it's three weeks from now or three years from now.
According to the newspaper, Tannenbaum will likely aim to get Kerr a five-year contract.
It remains unlikely that Phil Jackson will bring in Mark Jackson if Kerr turns him down. Mark Jackson, a Brooklyn native, starred at St. John's and played with the Knicks from 1987-1992 and again from 2001-2002. He has one year remaining on his contract.
Kerr has also been linked to the Lakers job following Mike D'Antoni's resignation on April 30.
