Report Concludes That Black Friday Deals Are Just A Myth
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If you're one of those who get up early the day after Thanksgiving to rush through the doors of the stores and find Black Friday discounts, you're in for some bad news.
As 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reports, the Wall Street Journal studied the subject, and found that savings on Black Friday are no better than any other time of the year.
Studying six years' worth of data, the Wall Street Journal found that all different merchandise is actually priced below Black Friday levels at various times throughout the whole year – even during the holiday season.
Columbus Day bargain hunter Robert, who was spotted at the Newport Mall in Jersey City, says he will never stay up all night to try to save money on Black Friday again.
"To wait on line for the whole night, it isn't worth it," Robert said.
The Journal finds Robert is not alone, as the trend is now to Internet shop for post-Thanksgiving bargains.
