Angry Dolan Reportedly Orders Knicks City Dancers To Stop ... Dancing
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- James Dolan is unhappy, and apparently he's taking it out on the Knicks City Dancers.
The Knicks owner was "ready to erupt" during Sunday's lopsided loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to the New York Daily News. He reportedly went on a manhunt for Steve Mills, finding his new general manager in a suite at the renovated Madison Square Garden.
Though Mills may have absorbed the brunt of it, the Daily News reported that Dolan also delivered an edict for the game-day entertainment, ordering the team's dancers to stop, well, dancing.
"Why? No one seems to know, except the standard answer is usually 'that's Dolan,'" the Daily News' Frank Isola wrote in Tuesday's paper.
Isola reported that the Knicks City Dancers -- now the Knicks City T-Shirt Tossers? -- busted a move once on Sunday, tops.
Dolan reportedly told coaches and executives before this season that he expects nothing short of an NBA title in 2013-14.
New York is off to a 1-2 start. The Knicks allowed Minnesota to score 40 first-quarter points Sunday.
"That was the difference in the game," coach Mike Woodson said. "I thought the second, third and fourth quarter we played pretty good basketball, but you just can't come out on your home court and dig a hole."
And remember -- no dancin'.
