Repairs Disrupt Traffic On NJ-Bound Holland Tunnel
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Five years' worth of traffic headaches were on the way at the New Jersey-bound Holland Tunnel.
Drivers were not able to enter the Tunnel via Hudson Street starting Sunday morning.
The City was beginning a water main repair project in Tribeca which was expected to last until 2015. The City's Department of Design and Construction said crews were to replace water pipes, one of which dated back to 1870.
Part of Hudson Street was also to be squeezed down to two lanes.
Other access roads to the tunnel will remain open.
