Rep. Maloney: Second Avenue Subway Must Get Done On Time
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Even though work on the Second Avenue subway has been in full swing for some time, elected officials from the neighborhoods involved are worried about further delays.
As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) said that further delays are unacceptable and that the feet of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority need to be held to the fire.

"So this subway has to get open. It has to be open on time," she said.
The MTA insisted that the target date for the subway remains December 2016. But a recent federal report suggested 2018.
Maloney's biggest concern is the 86th Street station.
"And they hit some road blocks with the electrical work," she said. "We have to make sure that that electrical work gets done."
The first phase of the project, which will begin as an extension of the Q Train, will have four stops between 96th and 59th streets.
Maloney has pointed out previously that the planned completion date would be 87 years after the project was first proposed.
