Do You Remember Rheingold The Dry Beer? It's Back!

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- It was more than the advertising, it was part of the culture. And now, like dad to the fridge, Rheingold Beer is back.

Drinks America CEO Pat Kenny is re-launching the legendary beverage made famous by jingle "My beer is Rheingold, the dry beer."

Fifty years after she was a Miss Rheingold finalist, Ann Newman is working on an upcoming Brooklyn Historical Society show on the brand's iconic ads.

She spoke with WCBS 880's Paul Murnane about the brand and the renowned Miss Rheingold images that were seen in the company's advertising.

"She was never seen drinking beer. She was offering it always to her friends and her fans. Everyone probably remembers the jingle," Newman said.

Drinks America launched its promotion of the beer in September of this year as part of a sales kick-off in the New York metropolitan area.
