Relatives: Nazish Noorani, Mother Killed While Walking With Son In Boonton, Confronted Husband Kashif Parvaiz About Alleged Affair

BOONTON, NJ (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey woman who was shot and killed while walking with her son and husband, who has been charged with plotting his wife's murder with another woman, was fearing for her life months before she was killed.

Nazish Noorani and her husband Kashif Parvaiz were walking with their 3-year-old son in Boonton Tuesday night when shots rang out. Noorani was killed. Parvaiz was wounded. There son was not hurt. The couple also has a 5-year-old son who was not with them at the time of the shooting.

Days later, police arrested Parvaiz and 26-year-old Antionette Stephen from Massachusetts on charges of murder, conspiracy and weapons offenses. Parvaiz also faces child-endangerment charges.

Months before she was killed, family members say Noorani suspected her husband was having an affair with Stephen, who is now accused of helping to plot her murder.

Relatives say she heard neighbors refer to Stephen as her husband's fiancé and found a pair of women's socks in her husband's apartment, which she visited on weekends with her sons.

An arrest affidavit also quoted a text message from Noorani to her brother that said "Someday u will find me dead but its cuz of kashi … He wants to kill me."

Still, family members including Noorani's cousin Yasir Raja, say they never suspected anything like this would happen.

"The first person they usually suspect is usually the spouse," said Raja. "In any case, it doesn't matter what it is, but nobody thought that it would be like this."

Relatives say when Noorani confronted her husband about his relationship with Stephen, he apparently told her he was just pretending the two were engaged to get a family discount at Best Buy where Stephen worked.

Meanwhile, condolences have been pouring in for Noorani and her family.

On a website set up by friends and relatives, www.nazishmemorialfund.org to help the couple's two sons, many writers on its guest book have expressed shock and disbelief about what happened, calling her death  "senseless and stupid.''

One writer hoped Noorani's children will be able to "move forward with beautiful memories.''

The site says Noorani was a "loving and devoted mother" who "lived for her children."
