Harry Reid: CIA Should Give Donald Trump 'Fake Intelligence Briefings'
PHILADELPHIA (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid doesn't believe the Republican presidential nominee can be trusted with information from intelligence briefings.
The Nevada Democrat told reporters the CIA should give Donald Trump "fake intelligence briefings" because he can't be trusted.
"I would hope they would give him fake intelligence briefings, because they shouldn't give him anything that means anything because you can't trust him," Reid said. "He can have intelligence briefings, but I hope they're fake. I hope that they don't tell him anything."
Reid was responding to Trump's call for Russia to find Hillary Clinton's deleted emails.
"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press. Let's see if that happens," Trump said during a press conference Wednesday.
Reid says he's sure the agency is aware of his suggestion.
He also says Trump may have violated the Logan Act that bars unauthorized U.S. citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.
