Rangers Gear Flying Off Shelves Following Eastern Conference Win
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Eastern Conference Champion New York Rangers have set off a flurry of buying by their fans, as they grab the latest team gear ahead of the Stanley Cup finals.
As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, Rangers gear was flying off the shelves faster than a Rich Nash slapshot at the Modell's in Midtown Friday afternoon.

"(What are you buying?) Probably a Next The Cup shirt or one of the jerseys that have a little Stanley Cup logo on them," said one shopper. "It's tough man. I want all of them, but it's hard to decide."
"(Tell me what you're buying) Everything I can possibly can. Gotta live it up. Every 20 years -- I was only 5 years old the last time," said another shopper.
It was fair to say there's a lot of pent up demand, the Rangers haven't been to the finals since winning it all 20 years ago.
"Not every year your team makes it to play for the Stanley Cup," said another shopper.
The Rangers will take on whoever wins the Western Conference finals on Wednesday.
