SPRING VALLEY, NY (WCBS 880) - Some may be feeling the sting this summer after health experts say all the rain has created a perfect breeding environment for mosquitos.

Health concerns are a major issue with the rise in the mosquito population especially since West Nile Virus has turned up in mosquitoes captured in every Rockland County town this summer.
Overall, the level of the virus in the mosquito population is at its highest level since 2002, health officials tell the Journal News.
The Asian Tiger Mosquito, which is more of a daytime biter, that turned up a few years ago in Westchester County, has also been found in Rockland County.
Experts say to help prevent mosquito breeding, get rid of any standing water.
One New Jersey official says mosquitos can breed in water in a bottle cap.
