Poll: NYC Voters Divided On De Blasio's Job Performance
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio would have a tough time being re-elected if the election were today, a new poll shows.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, New York City voters are split right down the middle when it comes to de Blasio -- 44 percent approve of the job he's doing, 44 percent disapprove.

And when asked whether de Blasio deserves a second term, more voters said no than yes -- 47 to 41 percent.

"De Blasio's re-election numbers are narrowly negative, and the mayor comes out behind Gov. Cuomo and (city) Comptroller Scott Stringer on job approval in the city," Maurice Carroll, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, told WCBS 880's Rich Lamb.
Carroll noted the racial divide that has marked de Blasio's tenure continues, with 64 percent of black voters approving of the mayor and 59 percent of white voters giving him a thumbs-down.
Cuomo's job approval rating in the city is at 58 percent. Stringer's is at 54 percent.
De Blasio is not up for re-election until 2017.
