Police: Stun Gun-Wielding Robbers On Loose In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Friday were searching for two suspects in a string of robberies in Flushing, Queens.
In two of the incidents, the suspects used a stun gun.
Around 3:50 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at 41st Avenue and Parsons Boulevard in Queens, the suspects came up to an 18-year-old victim from behind, covered his eyes, and pressed a hard object to his back, police said. The suspects took the victim's cellphone and wallet and headed west on 41st Avenue, police said.
Around 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, near Colden Street and Elder Avenue, the suspects came up to a 30-year-old male victim from behind, discharged a strong electric current with the stun object, and tried to snatch a pocketbook the man was carrying for his girlfriend, police said. The suspects did not get the pocketbook, and they ran off north on Colden Street.
Around 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, near Roosevelt Avenue and 147th Street, the suspects came up to a 35-year-old man from behind, stunned him with the stun object, and took his wallet, police said. The suspects ran east on Roosevelt Avenue.
The first suspect was described as black male between the ages of 20 and 25, standing 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black tank top, black sweatpants and white sneakers.
The second suspect was described as a black male also between 20 to 25 years old standing about 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing black sweatpants.
Police released a surveillance photo and video of one of the suspects.
