Queens Man Arrested After Attacking LI Mall Employee
SEAFORD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Queens man has been arrested on charges of robbery and attempted kidnapping after assaulting a female employee at a Long Island mall.
Police say Franklyn Brown was at the Sunrise Mall in East Massapequa on Thursday, when he went into a store where his 23-year-old victim, reportedly a former girlfriend, was employed.
Brown then allegedly attacked the woman, kicking and choking her before dragging her out into the parking lot and threatening to kill her.
The violence was stopped when the driver of a Brinks Armored Car intervened. When confronted by the driver, Brown fled the scene with the victim's cell phone.
He was later arrested off-site, after an investigation.
Brown is scheduled to appear in Nassau County District Court on July 12th.
