Purported KKK Fliers Found In West Babylon, Shirley
WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Fliers, purportedly recruiting for the Ku Klux Klan, have been found on private properties of two Long Island communities.
More than a dozen leaflets were found Sunday in West Babylon and Shirley, Suffolk County police said.

The fliers appeared to be from the North Carolina-based Loyal White Knights of the KKK, Newsday reported. They referred to last month's shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.
Police said the leaflets included "racist messages'' and listed a website and phone number.
Many residents in West Babylon were disgusted by the fliers.
"I don't understand why anyone would in this day and age be even thinking in those terms," one woman told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs. "I'm furious about it, I think it's ridiculous."
Similar fliers were found in Hampton Bays in July and August. Robert Jones, the grand dragon of the Loyal White Knights, told CBS 2 last month that he was unaware of the efforts in the Hamptons, but added: "Everybody's fed up with immigration. That is why we have so many people from New York calling right now."
