Proposed Yonkers Shopping Center Raises Concerns In Greenburgh
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - In Yonkers, there's a plan to build a 255,000-square-foot shopping complex and 400 residences right next to Stew Leonard's, Costco, and Home Depot.
That has Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner worried about "traffic, traffic, traffic and safety."
Feiner has offered an olive branch across the border, asking Yonkers to consider Greenburgh's concerns.
"We have a good relationship with Yonkers and the mayor," Feiner told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams. "We don't want to have a border war. We want to work cooperatively with Yonkers."

"We have a great relationship with the supervisor and we worked very closely with them on Ridge Hill and now he shops at Ridge Hill," Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano told Adams. "Supervisor Feiner and I have worked together on a number of issues and I have no doubt that this is something that we'll be able to work together on."
Spano says road improvements were made for the Ridge Hill project and suggested that, perhaps, the same could be done here.
There's a lot at stake - 500 jobs and $5 million in tax revenue.
