Prices At Gas Pumps Continue To Fall In New Jersey
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Motorists in New Jersey may notice their wallets are a bit heavier as gas prices dropped sharply in the state.
According to AAA Mid-Atlantic, the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the Garden State on Friday was $2.48, down 6 cents from last week.
That price is also nearly a dollar lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.43.
This marks the sixth straight week that pump prices have fallen in New Jersey.
The national average price on Friday was $2.67, also down 6 cents from last week and much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.52.
Pump prices are expected to continue to fall in the coming weeks, with analysts noting that crude oil prices continue to drop.
