President Biden To Release Billions Of Frozen Afghan Funds For 9/11 Victims, Humanitarian Aid
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Biden administration could soon release funds for 9/11 victims.
President Biden is expected to use executive authority to access about $7 billion from the Afghan Central Bank's assets, which are frozen in the American funding system.
The money would fund humanitarian relief in Afghanistan and compensate victims of the terror attacks.
A portion of the funds would also be used in ongoing litigation by American victims of terrorism.
