According to the Multi-State Lottery Association, the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot is 1 in 175 million, but that isn't stopping lottery hopefuls in the Tri-State area from trying their luck.
"I'm going to enjoy the next two days because the next two days it's all about dreaming," one woman said.
"I have been pretty lucky. On $2 tickets I've won $50,000 and three $30,000 ones," one man said. "Everybody came to me and wanted to rub my arm for luck."
To date, New York has sold four jackpot-winning Powerball tickets.
The previous top Powerball jackpot was $365 million. It was claimed by eight employees of a Nebraska meatpacking plant in 2006.
