Potholes Continue Popping Up Along Stretch Of Belt Parkway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - All the plowing and road salt that's accompanied all the snow so far this winter has left potholes littering streets all across the city.
As WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reported, the stretch of the Belt Parkway in Mill Basin, Brooklyn is among the most pocked roadways.
The potholes have caused hazardous driving conditions. At one point on Friday, more than a dozen cars were pulled over on the shoulder of the Belt Parkway.

"Felt like the car got hit with an explosive and next thing I know, I had to pull over to the side of the road where there was about 25 other cars that already hit it," driver Alex Valdeck told Diamond. "I didn't even see the pothole. There was a lot of water in that area, it was kind of covering the potholes."
His Mercedes had three blown tires, Diamond reported.
Angel Aponte was right behind Valdeck and hit the same potholes.
"They're not visible at all. Went right over it and it caused two flat tires," he said.
"About 25 cars. Tow trucks are making money right now just towing people away," another driver said.
The New York City Department of Transportation has been working to resurface the road, but new potholes keep springing up.
Earlier this month, the DOT worker to fill 1,100 potholes, mostly on the Belt.
