Drivers who use I-95 in the area of exits 14 and 15 in Norwalk know it's an area that's almost always jammed up.
Work is now under way to widen the highway through that area and ease the congestion, but it means highway closures for motorists.
The state Department of Transportation says that, weather permitting, both directions of the highway will be shut down in the area for up to 10 minutes midweek so crews can perform blasting.
These closures will occur between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursdays.
The DOT is warning of significant delays.
The project isn't expected to be finished until 2015.
