Port Authority: All Clear After Threat Made Against Hudson River Crossings
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Port Authority has confirmed that a threat was made against the agency's three Hudson River crossings.
The Port Authority confirmed to WCBS 880 that an unidentified man called 911 in New York City around 11:15 a.m. The man said that there was a bomb at the entrance of the Holland Tunnel, but did not specify which entrance, according to the Port Authority.
The caller also said that there were bombs at other crossings.
All three Hudson River Crossings were searched and nothing was found, according to the Port Authority. The search has ended as of noon, according to the agency.
The three crossings - the Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel and George Washington Bridge - were never shut down during the search.
A suspect was taken into custody about an hour after the threat was called in, WCBS 880's Alex Silverman reported.
