NY Attorney General Warns About Pope Ticket Scams
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- For some Catholics, a chance to see Pope Francis when he visits New York City in September seems like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
But state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is warning New Yorkers not to try to buy tickets, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.
Tickets are not for sale. Most will be distributed through parishes.

"Whenever there's a scarcity of tickets for an important event, there are folks who try to take advantage," Schneiderman said Wednesday.
"Anyone who promises you some sort of secret side deal, attempts to get any information, such as credit card information, you shouldn't go along with that," the attorney general said.
Pope Francis will arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sept. 24 and attend evening prayer at St. Patrick's Cathedral. The next day, he will address the United Nations General Assembly, host an interfaith service at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, visit a school in East Harlem and celebrate Mass at Madison Square Garden.
The pope will also visit Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
