The museum was founded more than 30 years ago to reflect the cultural values of the Puerto Ricans who live in East Harlem. Today, it has grown to include artists from the Caribbean and Latin America. Admission to the museum is $9.

The Spirit of East Harlem Mural

Some of the best displays of culture can be seen in the district's street art, on the walls of Spanish Harlem. The Spirit of East Harlem was originally painted in the 1970's to celebrate the Puerto Rican culture in the neighborhood.
Graffiti Wall of Fame
106th Street & Park Avenue
Every year, the most talented street artists legally decorate the wall around this park, known as the Graffiti Wall of Fame, to celebrate the art of East Harlem.
