In each of the tight races, it's Democratic incumbents who could find themselves ousted.
In southern New Jersey's 3rd District, Democrat John Adler is facing Republican Jon Runyan.
Two central New Jersey district races also could be tight. Republican Anna Little is trying to unseat Democrat Frank Pallone in the 6th District and Republican Scott Sipprelle is facing Democrat Rush Holt in the 12th.
Four state legislative seats are also up in special elections.
