Poll: Romney Leads In NY GOP Race But Trails Against Obama
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A new Quinnipiac University poll shows that Mitt Romney has an overwhelming lead over Rick Santorum among likely Republican voters in New York's April 24 primary.

Poll director Maurice Carroll says that Romney thumps Santorum 54 to 21 in the primary, and neither Newt Gingrich nor Rep. Ron Paul are even in it.

The poll suggests that New York will remain blue in the November general election, and will heavily favor the Democrat incumbent president.
"Obama trounces any of the Republican challengers in the general election. Not even close," Carroll told WCBS 880 reporter Rich Lamb.
When pitted against President Barack Obama, Romney loses 50 to 33 in New York. Santorum would lose 59 to 30.
"And those are the only guys in it. Paul and Gingrich don't even count in New York," said Carroll.
