Poll: NJ Adults Slightly Less Satisfied With Life
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A new poll shows a downtick in how New Jersey residents view their quality of life.
The latest results from Monmouth University Poll, which began polling state residents about their quality of life in December 2010, show residents' concerns over the economy and safety led to 3-point decline, the first in many months.
The poll, released Wednesday, finds 7 out of 10 residents continue to rate New Jersey as an excellent or good place to live.
Poll director Patrick Murray says the drop is most evident among lower-income households in urban and rural areas.
The index saw a 7 point decrease among men, but no change among women.
The ranking also dropped 7 points among residents age 55 and over.
The telephone poll of 803 residents was conducted July 18-22 and has an error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
