Poll: Cuomo Has 19-Point Lead In Gov. Race
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP/CBS 2) -- A new poll says the Democratic candidate for New York governor, Andrew Cuomo, has a 19-point lead over Republican Carl Paladino among likely voters in a three-way race.
The Marist College poll finds Cuomo has 52 percent of the support among those likely to vote in November, compared with 33 percent for tea party favorite Paladino. The poll finds 9 percent supporting Rick Lazio, a Republican who lost in the primary but still has a spot on the Conservative Party line. Lazio is considering dropping out the race, which Marist pollster Lee Miringoff says would narrow Cuomo's edge.
The poll released Friday questioned 617 likely voters from Sunday though Wednesday. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
