Police: Woman Steals Puppy From Huntington Station Pet Store
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Suffolk County are trying to find a woman who they said stole a puppy from a pet store.
It happened on Friday at the Canine Corral on New York Avenue in Huntington Station. The woman walked into the store, picked up a white Bichon Frise puppy that was in an open pen, put it in her purse and took off, police said.
The puppy is valued at $1,300 and that the whole incident was captured on surveillance video.
The woman is between 25 and 35-years-old, heavyset and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with bold stripes and carried a large handbag, according to police.
