Police: Suspect Raped Woman In Brooklyn After Threatening Her With Hammer

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A sex assault suspect is being sought after police said he threatened a young woman before raping her in a Brooklyn back alley.

The suspect approached the 18-year-old woman in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where he displayed a hammer, threatened to hit her and demanded oral sex, police said.

The man then forced the victim to a back alley, where he raped her and fled the scene, according to police.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital.

Police describe the suspect as being a black man, 20 to 22 years old, 5'8'' and 150 pounds.

The suspect has a light complexion and was last seen wearing what cops call a "black rich young cap," along with a hoodie, dark jeans dark jean jacket, sneakers that were red, white and black, a North Face black backpack and black framed glasses, authorities said.
