Police: Suspect Impersonated Cop Before Sexually Assaulting Teen Boy

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police want to find a sex assault suspect, who they say impersonated a police officer during a Brooklyn incident.

After a 15-year-old boy threw an empty bag of chips on the platform at the 53rd Street and 4th Avenue subway station in Sunset Park, authorities said the suspect approached him while flashing what the victim described as a police shield.

The suspect, who was dressed in civilian clothes, told the victim to come with him. The victim complied and followed the suspect into a white van, which the suspect drove to 92nd Street and Dahlgren Place and sexually assaulted the boy, police said.

The suspect then drove the victim to 38th Street and 4th Avenue and dropped him off.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 45 and 49 years old. Authorities said the man weighs about 145 pounds and has a bald head, grey mustache and a mole under the left side of his lip.
