Police: Suspect Arrested In Rape And Robbery Pattern
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police have arrested the man they said is behind a rape and robbery pattern that may have begun in August.
Zhordrack Blodywon, 40, of Queens was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with rape, robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, according to police.
Police said Blodywon sexually assaulted a 55-year-old woman in Flushing, Queens last Wednesday. He was captured on surveillance video entering a business shortly before the time of the reported rape.
Then on Saturday around 1 a.m., police said Blodywon robbed a massage parlor just a few doors down from where the alleged rape occurred in Flushing. Two cell phones were stolen in that incident, according to police.
Police are looking into whether Blodywon may also be the man who brutally beat and raped a 41-year-old worker at a massage parlor in Greenwich Village on August 17.
Several hours after Saturday's robbery, officials said Blodywon walked into a massage parlor in Great Neck but an employee recognized him from prior police sketches and called police. Blodywon tried to escape on a bus but was quickly captured by Nassau County police.
He was arrested and charged with the crimes stemming from the Oct. 17 and 20 incidents, while investigators continue looking into a possible link to the August rape.
Police said Blodywon had a BB gun and a hunting knife with him at the time of his arrest.
