Police: Stabbing At 'Crossroads Of The World' An Isolated Incident
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was hospitalized following a stabbing in the heart of Times Square on Tuesday afternoon.
The typically large crowd looked on as two men fought near the intersection of 46th Street and Seventh Avenue around 2 p.m.
As 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon reported, it was an altercation between two men in their 40s that got physical. Witnesses were alarmed, but did not realize one of the men had been stabbed until they saw him lying on the ground bleeding. By then, the other man was gone.

"I don't know what they were saying to each other," said a woman who was working nearby. "What I do know is that when the gentleman was down on the floor, he kept saying, 'I don't think I'm going to make it,' and his friend was like, 'Hold on, you're going to be all right,' and the cop was like, 'Oh, don't worry, guy, you're strong.' The cop was keeping him awake."
"I'm kind of freaking out a little bit and I heard them screaming," Junior, a tour bus ticket salesman, told WCBS 880's Alex Silverman. "I heard a commotion, I looked across the street and I seen the dude over there with the chair."

According to witnesses, the man who ended up getting stabbed was swinging the chair at the other man who had a knife.
"I told the cop there's a fight across the street and then they ran across the street and that's when you notice the guy was on the ground and that he was stabbed because he was holding his side," Junior said.
The incident was not random, according to police. They said the two men involved know each other.
The stab victim is expected to survive, police said.
Police were looking into what led to the fight.
About an hour and a half after the incident, the crime scene tape was taken down and the Naked Cowboy was entertaining a crowd of onlookers where the fight occurred, Silverman reported.
